| As the daily stresses of our lives increase,
more and more people are discovering that massage therapy is a wonderful
way to ensure a healthy body and a peaceful mind. Once viewed as a luxury
item reserved only for special occasions, massage therapy is now being
prescribed by the medical community for the relief of headaches, muscle
aches and injuries brought on by strained, stiff and over-tired muscles.
Today's research shows that regular massage therapy (at least once a month)
greatly assists the body in recovering from physical, mental and emotional
stress. Regular massage therapy also speeds recovery time between workouts,
eases muscular aches and pains, promotes circulation, improves sleep,
relaxes, energizes and revitalizes.
About the CBD Massage Team
All CBD Massage Therapists are certified professionals with years
of training and experience. Although the type of training and each therapist
receives varies, the quality of care they provide is consistent. All
Massage Therapists are skilled in Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage. Our
Massage Therapists use a dedicated approach to their work and have training
in other forms of massage therapy such as sports, Swedish and Trigger
Point Therapy; just to name a few. Please ask your Massage Therapist
to explain any other techniques he or she uses. Regardless of the focus
of your massage, stress relief and relaxation are inherent to massage
therapy.
CBD Massage Menu
Deep Tissue Massage:
The focus of Deep Tissue Massage is the release of tension in the core
muscles of the trunk and limbs. A variety of slow, deep strokes are
used to unlock tightness in the deep layers of muscle, tendons and fascia.
Oil or massage cream is used with this technique.
Sports Massage:
Sports Massage is designed for physically active bodies. Its focus is
on mobility of the joints and flexibility of the muscles. Sports Massage
is area specific, often focusing on a specific need. Oil or creme is
used with this technique.
Swedish Massage:
Swedish Massage is an oil or creme based massage that focuses on relaxing
the superficial layers of the muscles. Swedish Massage promotes general
relaxation, improves circulation and relieves superficial tension.
Trigger Point Therapy:
A Trigger Point is a hypersensitive area located in the belly of a muscle.
When the point is compressed the result is often felt as local or referred
pain. The use of sustained pressure and breath is used to release the
Trigger Point.
